Drew Barrymore ?!?

If you go on notstarring.com,you'll find out that Drew was offered the lead. role.If it's true,do you think she could have been as magnificient as Catherine?

reply

I like Drew, but I don't think she could act as smooth and polished as Catherine. Even during her swordfight with Oliver Platt, Catherine was smooth.

I'm quite a lovely person - apart from my terrible taste in pie.

I so agree with you. She was brilliant in that scene. I love Drew Barrymore but Catherine was just fantastic in this role. I can`t see anyone else in that role. I love this movie.

reply

I have not seen the movie Ever After nor would I want to see Drew in that type of role. I have only seen her in light romantic roles and in Charlies Angels.
I don't think she could pull off the lead in DB. The depth of emotion on Catherines face is amazing. She is so beautiful and the movie is fantastic!

reply

No offense Drew honey, but no.........you would never, ever be as good as Catherin was in this.

reply

my opinion no. Catherine brought this believability to the role that Drew could never replicate.

No. After her performance in Ever After, I cringe at the thought of the attempted British accent she would butcher this role with. Drew makes a fine "cutesy" character, but when she tries to play a refined, "courtly" role, it comes off as totally forced and fake. Secondly, and maybe more importantly... Drew just isn't very pretty.

reply

Yes, you're all right.Drew is decent but Catherine is magnificent so yes,she was perfectly cast.

I'm glad she didn't eventually played the role - not a good choice at all. Not enough beautiful nor sophisticated. Catherine McCormack did a fantastic job.

Boycott movies that involve real animal violence! (and their directors too)

Not about looks, just the acting style.
