Who saw this in cinemas back in 97?

Who saw this back in the day? What were your memories - the anticipation of seeing it in the weeks/days before, the actually seeing it and how much a big deal was it where you were back then, the crowds, audience etc and after coming out of the cinema what were your thoughts and in the days/weeks that followed...

I saw Copland at the drive-in. It was on a double bill with, I think, Mimic. There was little fanfare for Copland in my town. At the time I was 15. It wasn't as good as I'd hoped but thought Stallone had an Oscar worthy performance. Not sure if I'd say the same now but the role was a major change of pace for Stallone and I'd rank his performance as his second best after Creed (def. think he should have won the Oscar there).

The film didn't have much lasting impact for me. Actually, I am watching it right now for the first time since it's release. Picked it out of a discount bin at Walmart or Best Buy some time back. Getting around to it just now.

There didn't seem to be very much hype or anticipation for this from what I remember. The theater I saw it in with my friend was virtually empty. Although it was a solid fim, and Stallone played a different kinda character than the usual musclebound hero type. He also got to show off his acting chops along side some great actors like Keitel, Liotta, Deniro, and Patrick.

All that being said it still pulled in $60 million on a $15 million dollar budget
