5.8 rating? But this movie was way better than that!!

This movie was actually good and the four girls were awesome. Office Space is better, I must admit, but this movie is awesome. imo.

I am a guy who loves big action movies and crazy indie films, and I LOVE this movie. It definitely deserves a much higher rating. People are too trigger happy with the ratings on imdb. If they love it....10. If they hate it...1. If they don't get it....0.

I am agree, but don't forget this movie is about boredom (not only about boredom, though), about tedious days in office where nothing really important happens until someone starts stealing things from the office. It's a slow paced movie, and a movie that makes you think. For some people that's a crime.

How on earth this movie can compete for the taste of an audience that is so eagerly expecting the next action-packed-summer-blockbusters? How this little movie about common people living and suffering their lives can compete with such classics *sarcasm* like "Transformers" or "Apocalypto"

I mean, get real!

I don't think this is a "great" movie but certainly is underrated.

I hear what you're saying but Apocalypto was actually a very original action movie. The whole thing is in Mayan. So at least use a better example of the Hollywood machine when you throw out cookie cutter action movies.

As for Clockwatchers, I'm a guy and I loved this movie. Of course, I could relate on some level because I was a temp once for 2 weeks...and it's true how bad you're treated.

But the problem is the majority of Americans are bored by films like this. They don't want to have to use their brain too much and would rather just sit on their fat butts and be entertained. I bet Europeans would be able to appreciate this film a lot more than most people here in the U.S.

Though many feel this movie is primarily about boredom, I feel it is primarily about the dark and unspoken side of Temp work.

At the time this movie was released (1997), we had a fairly decent economy going and even though the Temp work force was quietly ramping up in the background, it was NEVER discussed. Flash forward almost 13 years and what has transpired is that the Temp work force has ballooned beyond belief. This disposable work force is the dream of corporate America and I would venture to guess that if a movie like this was released now, there would be more respect (higher rating) given.

Unfortunately, this movie will never get the exposure that it needs 13 years later. I bet the Temp stories out there today would be one hell of a post on this board.

I've posted here before. I'm surprised by the low rating. I think this movie is an 8.

The only reason this movie should have a lower rating is because not enough people have seen it. The movie is definitely better than a 5.8. One of my favorites. Never gets old!!

Ive done one too many basic/entry level jobs and although it isn't as grueling as the temp world, this movie still nails it in regards to office environments!

Agreed. I watched this movie years ago and I still remember it. It's strangely appealing even though it's languorous and there's not much going on.

Cool.
