Are all English language DVDs Full Frame?

When 'The Climb' was shown in theaters (1997-2003), it was widescreen with 1.85:1 aspect ratio. The most recent English language DVD released 8/21/2012 by Questar Inc (Amazon Standard Identification Number ASIN: B008H6GHW4), with the alternate title 'A Hero's Climb', is Full Frame with only the beginning and ending credits letterboxed to 1.85:1. A German language DVD released 2/1/2001 by AVU (ASIN B000056IQ5) is listed by Amazon.de (choose German at the bottom of the Amazon.com home page) as having Aspect Ratio: 16:9 - 1.85:1 and Format: widescreen, PAL.

I am curious whether the original film negatives were shot with spherical lenses so Full Frame mastered from the negatives would show more of the scene than the 1.85:1 film positives showed.

The 2/14/1999 DVD by Spellbound Pictures (ASIN: 1892649233) and the 10/1/2002 DVD by Vid Canada (ASIN: 1892649233) are both described as Aspect Ratio: 1.33:1 and Format: Anamorphic, Letterboxed, NTSC which sounds like the entire movie is 1.33:1 letterboxed to 1.85:1.

The 8/21/2007 DVD re-release by Spellbound Pictures (ASIN: B000SQVGNQ) is only described as Format: NTSC which could be anything. Does anyone know whether its aspect ratio is 1.33:1 or 1.78:1 (16:9)?
