There were only two females right? and a few other things...

at the...club...was that chick from the bar calling herself something else or was that a differnt chick? i.e. did he go back to the room with the main female or another one?

and i could be stuid but the chick with the scar.....was souly there to sybolize the changing of the gurad with the goverment; no?

and at the end....is it implied he went to the bench to die?

curious if anyone can provide input or answers or thoughts.

To answer your questions, though two years later:
1. The "chick" is Vivian, played by Gong Li. In her attempt to seduce John, I think she used her old "hostess" persona, which is Jenny. And yes, John went back to the hotel room with Vivian(Jenny).

2. She represented how, even with a drastic change in Hong Kong, society would continue on like nothing was different.

3. Yes, John died on the bench.

But this one's eating my popcorn!
