Wonderfully deep movie

I just watched this movie. It was out on broadcast TV on a small tv station. I started watching because...it was late and I had dishes to wash and zapping the tv boredly.

Well. It was one of those movies you watch and then stay up thinking about this or that scene. The photography, acting. It's all ... Very nice. It has something of an Italian neo realist movie: except the tone is sweeter, less negative maybe. There is however the same tone of impending tragedy, more so because the memory of "Bicycle thieves" is clearly in the mind of the director.

Some scenes are memorable indeed, like the entire race. Or the school scenes.

I will watch other movies of the same director.

Oh by the way. Reading the comments I noticed some people get very much stuck on the fact this is an Iranian. Or muslim movie. I think that's the wrong way to look at it... And really I mean it, it's the wrong way if you consider the fact positive, or negative, never mind. The movie is deeply human, and set in an Iranian city. Iranian cultural features, and society, are there, but... who cares. It's just great.. watch it.
