The 2 movies you compared it to are very strong. But this movie stayed with me for years after viewing. What a gem!

I'm in the USA and rented from Netflix and what a delight! I simply loved this little film. Finally, a kids movie where the kids actually behave like kids instead of watching little comedians blurting fabricated lines and who are too cute to be believed.

The bicycle thief was also wonderful and I just loved Umberto D....Flike! I haven't had the pleasure of Pursuit of Happiness, but I'll check it out pronto.

I'm American, and I bought this for a buck at a thrift store. I love foreign-language films, and this was good, but perhaps a bit overpraised. "The Bicycle Thief" is the obvious comparison, and I enjoyed that much more. Still, it was well worth my time.
