A word of praise from a Pakistani sister

Assalam o Alaikum ..........first of all I would like to congratulate all for having such a beautiful piece of art around us . I have no words to explain the beauty of this movie but what I liked most about it was that it was deeply rooted in reality . All the customs and culture shown in the movie are very much similar to ours .......... a delight that cannot be offered by other foreign movies ( Hollywood , Bollywood etc.) not even by Pakistani movies because the kind of life style they show is followed only by a minority of people(elite class).
This was my first ever Irani movie to watch and it has surely brought me on a long way to explore Irani films . IN SHA ALLAH I 'll enjoy this ride I am sure !!!!!!!!!

It was a beautiful film, I can see why so many filmmakers compare Iranian cinema to Italian cinema, at least the post war neo-realism of Fellini and De Sica in the 1950's. The after effects of the Islamic Revolution and the Iraq-Iran War provided the perfect backdrop for films about the lives of struggling working class families who struggle to make rent, provide food and put away money for stuff that many of us take for granted such as a pair of shoes. It subtly portrays how they contrast with the faceless elite Iranians who live in Beverly Hills like mansions. The exception being the kind old man and his grandson who just wants to have a friend to play with.

It definitely opened up my interests in more Iranian cinema.
