Roman Polanski's The Tragedy of Macbeth.

Did this film remind anyone else of that film?

There's a good article out there comparing Polanski's Macbeth film to the actual murders, and makes a really good case for the movie being Polanski's artistic working through of his grief. It's called "Strange Images of Death: Manson, Macbeth, Polanski" by Mikita Brottman, and it was in Necronomicon vol. 2, ed. by Andy Black, Creation Books, 1998.

I have no desire to see Roman Polanski's Macbeth. What happened that night at his house was an unspeakable tragedy. It's just a shame he wasn't home at the time.

If he had been home at the time he would most likely have died as well.

In almost every film Polanski has done, audience and critics have found a biographical parallel. Polanski himself has said this is just a lazy, superficial and sensationalist way to look at the story. I think there may be some truth to it - certainly someone's life experience has everything to do with what story they choose to tell and how they tell it - but I mostly agree with Polanski, that looking at these films just for biographical clues is rather pointless.

Van Bebber has referenced that movie when talking about shooting some scenes of this movie...
