What a load of bollocks

Having read Helter Skelter and researched Manson on the net I was really looking forward to seeing this movie. After 20 minutes I had to ask myself what the hell were the film makers thinking.

Major disappointment, thats all I can say.

Your first mistake was reading Helter Skelter.
What a one-sided piece of garbage.
Try reading "Manson In His Own Words" as told to Nuel Emmons.
Anyone expecting a Hollywood Blockbuster will be highly disappointed.

You are right there. That book is a pile of **** but so is "Manson In His Own Words" because it really ISN'T in Manson's own words.

You should probably avoid most books about him but there are a few decent ones out there. And all of the books have SOME truth, even if only a LITTLE. I personally haven't read any of the books about him and have found my information via the Internet. Gather information and make up your OWN mind.

if you haven't read any of the books on him, how would you know if they are full of lies?

reply

Because I have read about them over the Internet on several sites and know better than to waste my money on them. Besides, Bugliosi was the PROSECUTER so obviously is book fuels the master manipulator and psycho theories. I'm not interested in that because I don't agree with it.

You sell an Atheist a Bible. Does he want to read it? No, because he doesn't believe in that. Try getting a metal head to listen to rap. He doesn't want to because he doesn't like that. They know better than to waste their money on something they don't agree with.

I have made up my own mind and the only book I'd consider buying is The Manson File because I hear it's more PRO Manson. A PRO Manson book would be what I'd like to buy. That's what I believe in. And I don't make Manson out to be this really nice guy or an angel, but he isn't the monster the media paints. They paint the picture and so many eat it up.

And check this site out if you want...

Well I don't know if this latest rendition of the 'Manson Family' murders was accurate, but it was quite disturbing and horrific to see. Someone did post a website on Charles Manson's message board that had very graphic pictures of the victims after being tortured and slayed. I'll try to find that link and post it.

reply

wow that's a pretty one sided, narrow minded view. I own The Manson File. It's a fine book, you will learn nothing in it however...I mean nothing new. It's not really that type of book, though it claims it's gonna be. but it's well worth it to own. Lot's of rare (or at the time) pics, lots of writings by Charlie, and for a while it was the only place you could get his complete court room testimony. now you can get that in a few books.

to get a complete view of something, I would think, you'd have to read all sides of it, even if you don't agree with it. I mean that is how you research things. I know plenty of atheists who own and have read the bible. To be educated. how do you know if you don't agree with it, just cause you have read something about it? not the actual thing? it's education, my friend, right or wrong, however you view, but it opens yer mind to other sides.

I own plenty of pro Manson stuff, I read all sides of things. and make up my own mind as well. I've seen the site you have mentioned, and it's 100% just as typical as the anti manson sites, one side says one thing, the other says another. you make up yer own mind what you choose to believe, but I'd suggest not shutting out things before you read them (not about them) before you say you don't agree with it.

and I am not saying either side is completely right.

And obviously so do you. It works both ways. I agree with everything bredlau said, how can you ascertain your opinion if you don't research objectively. I mean just look at Bobby Beausoleil's dealings with Kenneth Anger before he hooked up with Manson, that's got to be a bit of foreshadowing.

All I can say is that I would NEVER want Manson out from prison walls!!! Can you honestly say that you would feel comfortable with him living next door from you?!!! Yikes!! Not I! :)

reply

he's never getting out, he knows it, you know it, everyone who knows anything about the case knows it. I am not scared of him, it's more the crazy people who think he is some kind of martyr and revolutionary hereo. They are the ones that are dangerous and are the ones to worry about. But really where is a 70+ year old man with a swastika on his forehead gonna go if he gets out? not next door to me, he would be out in the desert.

reply

My god your one of those people who think Manson is not a blood thirsty freak. He is so far gone it's not even funny. But I supose you probably think that OJ and MJ are not gulity as well. Some people will beleive what they want no matter how glareing the facts are. You can be Pro Manson if you want but he is nothing but a looser who killed and got people to kill for him. Did he get a fair trial No. Is he guilty? Yes

who are you talking to?

He'd probably go out to the desert again but if he moved next door to me I would go have a chat with him. And I'd watch his house to make sure no one hurt him because if they did they would be getting a not so friendly visit when I find out where they live.

Did he get a fair trial No. Is he guilty? Yes

If he was really guilty you could prove he was without taking his rights away.

Some people will beleive what they want no matter how glareing the facts are.

I could say the exact same thing to people who are saying Manson is evil.

reply

"If he was really guilty you could prove he was without taking his rights away"

this is always an interesting debate, because I know what Charlie means by it, but what rights were really taken away from him? I am asking you, cause I would like to see your input and theories on this.

reply

The court took his right to defend himself which is guarenteed under the Constitution.

reply

do you know the reasons they took it away from him?

reply

The film was *beep* sick!! if he actually has followers, thats even ore sick!! He should be in Jail till he dies!

Joh Kerry had followers. Maybe he should be in jail til he dies to. And please don't say, 'But Kerry doesn't tell people to kill for him' because Manson didn't either.

reply

John Kerry also didn't insinuate he was Christ. Or write *beep* songs.

If you had done internet research, surely you would have come across information about Vincent Bugliosi. Perhaps you would have read how he never lost a case prosecuting over a hundred felony cases and a dozen murder trials? Then he left government service, became a defense attorney and turned down any client whom he felt was guilty. He later wrote a book about prosecuting George W Bush for murder. To me, he has a lot more credibility than you ascribe and than most of the sources your list. He had to do extensive research and actually faced Manson day after day. How can you dismiss him out of hand? Your critical thinking skills seem lacking.

reply

This is no bullocks.

You are so wrong.

Manson is dirty and nasty and this movie shows this.
