The fake look took away the disturbing factor

Yes this is a very violent movie which is fair enough considering its telling the true story of the most horrific murders in recent memory, but i thought the violence was over done and the fake look to it made the movie less disturbing for me. I thought it almost looked comical.

This movie wasnt as good as i thought it would be

I'm not a freak until you see tongue marks on your window! :D

So what do YOU think the murder looked like?

reply

i am not sure, i wasnt there at the time

reply

i completely disagree. i felt that the lack of special effects made the murders seem alot more gruesome and disturbing. when rosemary labianca is stabbed and when jay sebring is stabbed stand out as being particually disturbing. also when gary hinman is stabbed it seems truly horrifying.

so yeah i completely disagree with you.

I believe it was intentional; it was supposed to resemble the cheap, garish gore of the splatter films of the 60's/70's from the likes of Hershel Gordon-Lewis and such, as it takes place in the same era. I thought the scratchy film stock effect was quite beautiful.

I like the look of this Manson movie! It made it look like a real movie from 1969!

You people are crazy and want movies to look all like Avengers!
