ok i have to watch this in my english class but its so hurtful seeing the dogs getting hurt that i cant take it. What happens in the end? is it a good ending?

Kinda. Buck is left alone after Rutger Hauer's character is killed and he runs off and joins the wolves that have been caling him throughout the whole movie.

At least he didn't die :)

It says at the start that the animals were trained and none were hurt in any way.

No, but the acting scenes showing they were being beaten was very realistic, and just heart-wrenching.
