gory or not?

I am a biiiiiiiiiiiiig fan of Irish films-like Disco Pigs, Angela's Ashes,Intermission,on the edge and Breakfast on Pluto-----i heard about this a million times but im not into Gory movies-is it that bad?-or is it not gory at all

My view is that it's NOT that gory. I saw Angela's Ashes, and I was depressed by it, although I found watching the film once well worth my time. What I can remember about Butcher Boy is that since the movie is told through the eyes of Francie Brady (approx. age 12 or so) what may qualify as gore to some is just special effects to others. (I've tried to answer this question without any spoilers, in case you want to watch the movie now on my recommendation. You'll be glad you did.) I watch this movie again every 3 years or so, and each time it's almost like watching a new movie.

There is one bloody scene, and it's over fairly quickly.

It's not really that kind of movie. It's more of a drama, with a very, very dark sense of humor.
