My least favorit movie of all time.

I must say, I have seen my share of movies (620 and counting) and The Butcher Boy is by far the worst/most annoying of all the 620. I really can't see anything good that came out of me watching this film, except that I now have a clear winner as for the "worst film ever".

Sorry if you think I am a troll I just thought I would put it out there that this movie is complete torture to me. Hopefully you all agree... for the sake of everything lovely and beautiful, this movie is______... Indescribably bad.

losers track every movie they watch. maybe all 620 movies are box office smash hits like my dinner with andre

reply

i'm 40... watch a few movies each week, almost always did... how many films have I seen? can I be bothered to count?.. whats my 620th favourite? zzzzz
why would anyone be bothered coming here and telling us that, and also, as someone born and living in ireland, I can tell that this movie has an awful lot going for it, is well acted, and watchable... some people only seem to come here to try and be smart... booooring

reply

a lot of people can't stand movies because thier not open to it, holding a fairly biased view towards and also the satire underlining it. In some cases movies are filmed terrible, acted terrible and not even worth seeing.
Butcher boy on the other hand was good, I wouldn't say amazing but defiantly amusing

"Who tracks every movie they've ever watched?"

You know this website does that, right? If you rate a movie after watching it, the website tracks your rating and saves it, and you can quickly go to your entire list of movies that you have seen and rated since you joined the site.

For example, I can tell you that I've rated exactly 534 movies since I joined.

"Enough of that technical talk, Foo!"

I have seen exactly 4567 films in my lifetime and I must say, this movie ranks in the bottom 200, right between #656, American Pie Presents: The Naked Mile (2006), and #598, Sabretooth (2002).

And we don't think you're a troll, just someone with the mental acuity of one.

reply

Haha, little harsh. Maybe the person is actually born in '98 and takes pride in the number of movies he watches. I personally thought this movie was amazing. I'd rather that this person said what was so bad about the movie, but we're a little early to jump on him. I just started keeping track of what movies I watch.

So you've seen 4567 movies, and yet you have no idea on how to judge a film, I only say this, because as a film student, in my memories of talking about films, not one person, one single person I know would rate this as a bad film. Exactly what were you judging this film on the basis of?

reply

If you are going to write that a movie is the worst you have ever seen, could you at lease provide some reasons why ..perhaps set the tone for some intelligent debate with fans of the movie, rather then making an inane statement deliberately so spark a reaction....no life trolls like you make me very sad

Then I feel really sorry for you...

reply

I clearly don't get out much ... this is one of my "most favorit" movies of all time.

reply

What is movie #621? Mall Cop? You need a lot of watching to develop a keen cinematic eye.

reply

I must say, I have now seen 999 movies and will see Avatar tomorrow to make it 1000!

And this one is still my least favorate. I don't feel like I need to explain myself or justafy my argument with long drawn out discussion... that would not accomplish anything. I am just noting the fact that out of 999 movies this one annoyed me the most. I am talking about frusteration and general distaste for the film. That is why I said it was my least favorate movie of all time, not 'the worst film ever made' in terms of quality.

My rating are here:

http://www.imdb.com/mymovies/list?l=13511034

Feel free to complain about them but out of 999 this one is at the bottom.

reply

Hey, buddy, maybe you should tone down the movie watching a bit and read a book... sometimes that helps with spelling. Or, you know, actually paying attention in school.

What is the point of announcing this is your least favourite film without justifying your reasoning? Okay, it frustrated you... why did it frustrate you? Did it move too slowly? Did you find all the characters to be too unlikable that you couldn't care less as to what happened to them?

Wow, after glancing at your ratings... I may as well disregard everything you say...

It seems clear, to me anyway, that the OP's least "favorit" movie is the one that's disturbed and unsettled him more than any other he's seen so far in his life. So I can on a certain level understand why he hates it. However, what he doesn't seem to grasp yet is that "least favorite" and "worst" are often not at all the same thing when it comes to things like films. And that is certainly true in this case.

This movie is meant to disturb and unsettle people. And the OP is definite proof that it has succeeded.

I'm going to have to agree with Grant007. Most browsers have spell check, so either you're confused by that red squiggly line under everything you type, or you need to invest about 5 minutes of time in downloading and installing a new browser. Of course, you could actually learn to spell, but I'm guessing education isn't your priority.
I know this is harsh. I know people don't like "grammar Nazis". However, your tone was so patronizing and pretentious that I couldn't help but call you out on your bizarre spelling of common words. "Favorate"? "Justafy"? Do you not like the letter "i" or something? "Frusteration"? Come on.

reply

well its better than Ransom, Fresh, Planet of the apes and Avatar, so youve obviously got a *beep* sense of good movies

Well, as I continue to age, this one is still at the bottom.

Sorry if that offends you.

P.S. Should I watch it again? Is there any hope it will be better the second time?

reply

Only if you have stopped watching *beep* like Avatar!! :P

I have loved film my whole life...and that is many, many decades of watching everything but especially Oscar worthy films. So forgive me if I disagree, but I thought Butcher Boy was brilliant! Really outstanding. That's what makes us all different, I guess.

reply

I guess it's the kind of film that some may hate, but I love it, for its nature of being weirdly emotional and how it manages to balance between its comedic elements and the serious stuff.

Not one of my top films but it surely is near the top.
