This movie should have never been made, period!

This is more like a remake, not really a sequal. On USA, they showed Buried Alive and Buried Alive 2 in a row, and it is ridiculous to see how everything is nearly a parody, except for different actors. I quit watching Buried Alive 2 in the middle of it because I couldn't stand it anymore, because it was so much like the original, but not as good I don't think. Number 1 was better. And did they have Clint die in 2? If so, that just plain out sucks! He was the only character keeping the movie going. Killing him off just ruins what's left, really. Watch # 1, forget # 2....You won't miss a thing!

How can you rate a movie that you only watched half way through? I disagree, I think this was a very good movie, and I actually liked it better than the original.

I'm watching #2 right now. I still like the original more, but I like this one also. It was a shame that Clint had to die. He was the best thing in both movies. I think the way the 1st movie ties into the second one with them finding his wife and doctor in the grave, is great. I could watch both of these movies over and over again........and I have, LOL. Besides, Tim Matheson is HOT!!!

It was a well-made (relatively speaking) movie, with a pretty good cast who do their best with the lines they were given. Despite the fact that it had scenes that show us the follow-up to the (somewhat) loose ends of part one, nothing comes close to the iconic imagery depicted in part one.

And I agree with kbsusieq. Although I'm a dude, I do find Tim Matheson to be a charismatic and imminently watchable on-screen presence. It's the coolest thing in the world to watch him go from all-American good guy in the first half to revenge-crazed madman in the second half. He regains some sense of nobility when he unearths Ally Sheedy's character, but he dies immediately afterwards. I suppose it's just death catching up to him, but I really would have loved to see him drive off with his dog again. Oh well.

Revenge-crazed madman???? WOW! I'm not making fun, I just never thought of him that way. I guess he was a little obsessed. You're right, when he started catching up with Laura, he softened a little. I think the best ending would have been Clint and Laura riding off with her inheritance and his dog.

I have watched both films and like them both. I do prefer the first movie because Tim died in the sequel and Clint,Laura and Dog should have driven off together at the end.

i wonder if there are any pictures on the net from the end of the first one. i always tell people about this movie, mainly how freaky and how it makes me feel chlostrophobic with the 2 jerks gettin plywood-ed into the house. it freaks me out, i really wanna see this again, mainly to see how scary the ending was.

I totally agree that this movie was pretty much a complete remake of the original, albeit with WHO gets killed switched up a bit. It appears Tim Matheson went the easy route on this one. Still, I thought it was not too bad - he hasn't directed much (I see he's done a lot of television PROGRAMS since this) so maybe he felt he needed the original story as a crutch to get him through it.

I also agree it was 100% stupid to kill his character off. MORE importantly, I think it was a HUGE mistake to write it into the script that he's been close to death ever since the events of the first film. One of the things I LOVED about the original was the REVENGE factor - that he not only GOT EVEN (and THEN SOME) but was ALIVE and WELL at the end of the film. Adding the element that was 'never the same again' health-wise sort of takes away from the first film and the strength that it had (to me anyway).

Just my $0.02.

Wait a minute... who am I here?

Yeah, i dug it well enough.

I think what it was that he wanted to tie it in with the first movie even though I do not agree with Clint dying in the sequel though. I loved it when USA Network aired these movies because they were some great movies to watch!

I would have to go with I liked the original movie better than the second but I loved the second movie as well. It had a lot of the elements of the first movie but what they did was switched it up.

What I mean by that is instead of the husband getting killed they made it to where the wife gets killed in this movie. I totally agree with you all about Clint should have survived and lived in the sequel with Ally Sheedys character in the end with his dog that he had.
