MLK assasination simliarities

did anyone else notice how the scene at the end where Bulworth is shot, appears very similar to the picture taken of Dr. Martin luther king after he was shot...with his aides pointing to where the gunshot came from, i just thought it was a very good allusion to another black leader being assasinated.

I think that's exactly what Beatty was getting at, and I thought that it was the most powerful shot in the movie.

agreed. you can't take the literal phrase "all BLACK leaders get killed" at face value, b/c bullworth says in the movie to get rid of ALL races. therefore, being a black leader doesn't have to be physically black.

just my opinion, and i just saw this movie for the first time. excellent movie.

you can't go home again...but i guess you can shop there

That particular scene was less than a second, but brilliant. That was a great job by Beatty. I am glad someone brung it up, because I thought it was eerily similar to the MLK assination.

I can remember seeing the picture, that is recreated in this movie, for the first time. As soon as I saw the guy kneeling, and the others pointing up, that picture came back to me. And, it makes me wonder how much different things might be if that terrible thing hadn't happened.

It's refreshing to see a politician telling the truth even if it is only happening in a satirical movie. For all the good it did him. Maybe he became the spirit and not just a ghost.

Great job by everyone involved in this terrific movie.

Emperor: Tell me how he died.
Captain Algren: I will tell you...how he lived.

You are entirely correct! This proves Beatty has Bulworth killed. I responded in another post above with the same material. Sorry the repost, I missed this one.
