This movie is alright, not very gangster, Monument Ave is more Irish G than Southie, Road to Perdition is the best in this category, Millers Crossing is to much love story, State of Grace kinda sucks and I haven't seen Irish Eyes. Still waiting on All Saints Day (Boondock Pt 2). Have I missed any from the genre? Hit me back

reply

Irish eyes sucks, and boondock saints isnt gunna happen because Duffy dropped out of it, and the actors are losing interest because of it.

Irish Eyes did Suck, Just saw it, boom mic in too many shots to count, the only thing I dug is that a few of the scenes (mainly the wherehouse shootout) were shot at Lacy St. Studio in L.A. off of Figueroa(It's a f'n dump) I worked on a couple of films @ that studio. That's lame about All Saints Day, but Oh well............Irish Pride

evanmang87- you're a moron, for making us all read that we are now all that much dumber. thank you very much....boondock saints is a great movie....and i'm 100% irish from lawrence, MA, so shut the hell up about that

State of Grace didn't kind of suck.

this movie probably does and it probably sucks out loud. but State of Grace has performances ranging from good(Penn)to great(Oldman and Harris), and the first time director didn't do half bad.

State of Grace is not in the same league as the Departed, but it's certainly not in the same league as Southie either.

I agree that the first four gangster films on your list are the best gangster films, but since I've never seen "American Me", I'm unable to compare that particular film with any of the others.
