cant find this movie...help

i saw this movie when i was much younger. for the all the imdb abusers(like myself) know how one movie can bring you to another another. I found this movie, and this was teh closest I could find for the movie i need help with.

he was a boxer. he had heart, and was young. had some dealings with a girl(of course) and dad or grandfather. at the end he fights the owner/manger or something....with no gloves. and he suckers the young kid into punching him in teh head, and he hits the top and breaks the kids had. cant remember...THANKS

You may no longer need this information since your post is near four years old, but the movie you are referring to is titled Gladiator. I believe it was released in the early 90s (as opposed to Gladiator starring Russell Crowe which was released in 2000).
