Boxing scenes?

To start with, I really enjoyed this film and have always been a huge fan of DDL. As I was watching the film though I couldn’t help but think that the boxing scenes felt like they were being played out almost in slow motion. Compared to say Raging Bull, it just felt very sluggish in those particular scenes. Maybe it was just a lack of frenetic editing that I have become used to in my boxing films?

Having said that, the eerie silence in the last fight in the posh hotel was very well done.

The Boxer had the most realistic portrayal of boxing compared to any other movie I've seen.

What silence has to do with the diligence of portrayal of boxing techniques is beyond me...
