So how come the town beats the tar out of him almost, then when they take him out of town under a bridge, they line him up, and one of the guys shoots Harry instead of Danny? Is that their way of easing things off/ a way to get Danny out of town? Are they going to accept him and Maggie now or no? So Danny goes back to the village, right with Maggie?
Yeah, the ending seemed like one of those forced Hollywood happy endings. I expected them to shoot Harry since they had clearly shown he was threatening to splinter the group, but for Danny and Maggie to go back home after that made no sense. If they were allowed to live after that, it would have shown the leadership were favoring them just because she was Joe's daughter, which would have made his position untenable and their lives miserable as they would likely be shunned by the community.
