amazing movie!!

This is one of the best hindi movies which i ve ever seen..!!

This is also the best war movie made in bollywood.. The dialouges in the movie are very catchy and just mindblowing..!! the background score in the movie is too good. Songs in the movie are bit lengthy but still worth listening..

this has always been one of my favourite movies n i still remember each n every dialouge..!! i ve seen this movie more than 100 times.. stil dont get bored.. the characters fit their roles n hav done a very good job..

This movie simply rocks..!!

LOC Kargil is a joke. Movies aren't meant to be 4 hours long, whoever can sit and watch a movie for that long is sick and so is the person who made it. The movie is getting less than 5/10 on imdb, that should speak for itself.

Might I suggest Lakshya as India's best war movie although the conflict is a backdrop for another story. Lakshya has hands down the best war scenes of any indian movie period, as well as a very real feal to the whole movie in general. It has an excellent world class soundtrack to go along with it unlike the straight up lifted songs in bollywood nowadays (not apllying to border). On the other hand, I think LOC Kargil could not have been worse. A very pathetic movie in my opinion for the long stretch, not so good acting, not so well written story, and making it seem more like an overacted movie. And what was with all that cursing and censor. Should've just stuck to not cursing, or not censoring. Also, both Border and LOC portray Pakistanis in a very negative light which I feel isn't right despite being an Indian hindu myself. And for that reason I also like Lakshya more because it keeps the Pakistani appearances short and human unlike its counterparts who make them seem like born Indian haters. Lakshya portrays them as soldiers. In its own time and place i like Border verry much, but was a bit too fictionalized. But the soundtrack here is really good. I also liked the concept of the mother walking through a charred battlefield with destroyed tanks looking for her son and something like that doesn't exist in Lakshya but that is because Lakshya isn't about war, but uses it as a backdrop to tell a very different story. Just my 2 cents!

Cheers!

Oh indeed, I agree, Lakshya rules, and Border's damn good too, the other Indian war movies just plain suck. Strictly from an entertainment perspective, LOC was nothing more than a feeble attempt at following up on Border's success. While I have watched Border over and over again, I couldn't bear to watch LOC completely the first time. Please note that this refers only to the film purely from an entertainment point of view, historical significance and social message are separate discussions altogether.

I had just finished school when Border came out and for the next 2 years, the only thing I could think of was becoming a Major in the Indian Army!

So did you end up joining the army?

I tried out for the short service commission, but I was rejected on physical/medical parameters, one reason was my eyesight, I wear glasses.
