Alfred Molina is perfection!

Alfred Molina most definitely should have won an Oscar for his scene-stealing performance. He is one of the best actors of our time. It's unbelievable he hasn't won an Oscar yet!

I concur! Alfred Molina was once again amazing in that movie. I have seen him recently in a totally different type of character in Love is Strange with John Lithgow. They play a gay couple who are forced to let go of their home since Molina's character is fired from the school he was working at because it was discovered that he married Lithgow's character. It is a beautiful, low-key movie with another nuanced and touching performance from Moolina. Naturally, Lithgow is ace too in that film.

He was stunning. It took me a few moments to realize it was Molina, then I was just entranced. He's an amazing actor.

I can't begin to say how much I love Alfred Molina as an actor. I feel like when you watch him on screen you don't see an actor. You see the character he is portraying. Very few actors can truly melt into a character and for that reason I find him fascinating.

reply

Very few other actors have that ability - but one of the others who could do that was Phillip Seymore Hoffman.

And you have to admit that a crappy Night Ranger song is perfect for this scene. I really hated that song until I saw this movie. Now when I hear it it, I just smile and think of his craziness.

He was portraying Eddie Nash...n was spot on. No other actor could have played that scene that I can think of .

I'm still waiting for someone to tell me that's not the greatest scene in film history.

That's not the greatest scene in film history.

He's great in this scene and the one in Magnolia. What are some other really good performances from Molina? I've only seen him in Species, Spider-Man 2, & the movie based on that Dan Brown novel.

I loved him as Diego Rivera, Frida Khalo's husband in "Frida." He plays the famous Mexican artist who painted numerous murals, including one in the lobby of Rockefeller Center that was later removed or covered over.
Molina is English but portrays the chubby, Mexican artist flawlessly. He was so tenderly in love with Frida, although he constantly had affairs.
You gotta see the movie. It's great, touching, beautiful and teaches you a little bit about Rivera's art!

I always thought he was Australian.

He's so great in that one scene and every time I watch the movie he takes me by surprise. I always seem to forget he's in this.

Anyone here mentions Hotel California dies before the first line clears his lips.
