This film took me by surprise

Didn't look interesting at first, looked more like a "made for tv" offering but I hung in there and was surprised and impressed. What a deep (no pun intended) and thoughtful film that ends up revealing and teaching so much. If not for the typical cliche's such as everyone being beautiful, witty, rich and tasteful, this would be a perfect, must-see!

I am so glad to read a comment from someone who "gets it". I too had lost interest in the beginning, but decided to hang in there. The film turned out to be very brave and well executed on a difficult subject. It requires some emotional maturity to receive it in the way that the writer intended.

Well said (or written)

yeah, the movie starts off slowly and kind of boring but it gets better after they introduce Terrence Stamp

and Spalding Gray said he enjoyed being in Vancouver to make this.
Terrence Stamp is pretty amazing and Spalding as the 'straight' therapist is a good if usual Spalding brief appearance. One of my favourite Spalding movies.

I saw this movie at a local used movie store for a whopping 200 bucks!....Needless to say, I didn't buy it. Lol
