he probably had poor vision, although im sure his glasses didnt help much, what with thec racks breaks dirt and scratches.

seemed to me this was a war between heavy metal (Guns N Roses - or some similar garbage) and rock and roll (Buddy Holly) although I'm not certain if Buddy had a stratocaster in the film.
Incidentally, did anybody other than me just find the kid to be a really irritating bastard through the entire film?
If the main actor didn't wear glasses who on Earth would ever think he looked like Buddy Holly?

Guns N Roses are not heavy metal dumbass, they're hard rock. Buddy Holly is like classic rock now I guess, dunno what stuff earlier than The Stones, AC/DC. etc is called.

"Buddy" is actually Buddy Holly, the real buddy holly. six string sam is set in an alternate history where russia set of nukes on earth in 1957, so instead of dying in a plane crash in 1959, Buddy Holly walked the earth kicking ass and rocking out.
shareThe movie IS an alternate past.. but it takes place in 1997. And this Buddy doesn't look like he's in his 50s, as the real Buddy Holly would be.
