Thats what I thought when I saw it. (Well, not 'horribly' played out) The idea was good enough for it to hit "massive cult following" status. Maybe if it had a little less anime in it, had more depth and substance, it coulda been great.
I enjoyed it, though.
i thought it had great depth...in the end this tired, burnt out alkie rocker gave up his life to save this kid..it had a great road trippin redeem your pathetic life vibe to it.rock!

I thought the movie was decent, but wouldn't rate it over 6 at most. Great concept, but not very well executed in my opinion.
