Good movie, but the play was better

We saw the play that the movie was based on back in school, called "Property of the Clan", and even though the movie was good, the play is definitely worth a read, because the ending is different, as well as some additional characters. I'm not sure if it's available now (we saw the play in 1996) but it is definitely worth a read...

Yeah, the play is written by Nick Enright. I remember walking out of the theatre feeling so blown away...nearly 10 years later and I can still remember the impact it had on me..I'm sure you could google it and find a copy if you're interested...I highly recommend it!

Original plays usually are better than the movies based around them. We did Property of the Clan a few years back but werent allowed to see the film, but we recently did "Cosi" by Louis Nowra and the play is by far better than the film, even with "award winning" actors.

Dean: Thanks. Agent Mulder, Agent Scully...

I did the play in yr 11 drama and absolutely loved it.. our drama teacher refused to show us the film as because she said it would confuse our essays in our exams..i got really interested in the story and ended up researching the actual death of Liegh Liegh (the real girl who was murdered)... after exams we had a slumber party and watched the movie.... we were all in agreeance that the play 'property of the clan' is much better than 'blackrock'.
i ended up doing a set design for the play... and i still have it... 4 yrs later

This film made many of the cast members into stars and i think if someone or Film Finance Corporation Australia funded Tomorrow when The war Began it will too launch many of the cast members.
