Stop the Wishful Thinking: Hitler Was Neither Gay Nor Jewish

No, Hitler was not gay.

Credible sources who spoke to his various mistresses have testified that he may have had a big fetish involving sadomasochism and possibly coprophilia-- but always in a heterosexual context.

I've read various plausible-sounding assertions that while a young man in Vienna, before World War I, he sometimes acted as a male prostitute. (Emphasis on "sounding." So far as I can recall, references to primary sources were lacking in whatever article it was I read.)

I don't know if there's any credible evidence to support the male prostitution angle, but, even if true, that wouldn't say a single thing about his actual sexual orientation. Many hustlers consider themselves straight, and in fact are. Many times, guys like that also tend to secretly (or not-so-secretly) loathe and despise their customers, and gay people in general.

The whole notion that Hitler was gay by nature is an exercise in wishful thinking on the part of two types of people:

1. Raving homophobes, especially our all-too-numerous modern-day professional homophobes.

2. Naive gay rights advocates and self-proclaimed sympathizers who automatically assume that (a) every single homophobe is compensating for his own repressed sexuality (true in many cases, but by no means all;) and/or (b) it's cool to try to make the Nazis look bad by casually accusing them of blatant hypocrisy.

2.(b) also applies to people who claim, as many people have over the years, that Hitler was part Jewish.

There's not a shred of credible evidence for that, either. Hitler probably had a drop of two of Slavic blood in his veins. Slavic, not Jewish. Reinhard Heydrich was probably part Jewish, and is often thought to have played a key role in engineering the Holocaust as part of his campaign to cover it up... Heydrich, not Hitler.

The biggest problem with Hitler's anti-semitism is, he wasn't the least bit hypocritical about it; he was deadly sincere through-and-through.

As for Hitler's homophobia, it was a bit more nuanced, but the only thing hypocritical about it was his professed friendship with Ernst Röhm, whom he soon ordered murdered, along with a sizable chunk of the SA (Stormtroopers, brownshirts), as shown in this very film. But it was the friendship that was phony, not the hatred.

Anybody thinks Hitler was gay, all I have to say to that is: show us the credible primary sources. Sources, or it didn't happen.
