Storyline at IMDB

I just read the storyline of "Basil" on IMDB. Whoever wrote it must be retarded.

"Based on a little known Willkie Colins novel, Basil is the story of a man called Basil who falls in love with and marries Margarate Sherwin. What he doesn't know is that a friend of hers, John Mannion, has been having an affair with her to seek revenge on Basils brother Ralph who had an affair with his sister and died in an abortion attempt."

I have just finished reading the book, so I don't know how altered the story in the movie will be (I already see that some of the names have been changed, as well as the reason behind Mannion's revenge), but that synopsis is cringeworthy.
Basil's brother Ralph died in an abortion attempt? Now, come on, how stupid you need to be to make such a sentence and put it down as a synopsis? Whoever wrote it needs to go back to school.
