Am I the only one who truly likes this movie?
Not as a "cult following because it's so bad" way either, I really like the movie, and many of the things that others complain about are the things I like most. The characters Steed and Peel are intentionally non-emotional on the outside, being "proper" British agents, but remain cool and collected in a way where you can see the emotion being purposely repressed and contained. The intellectual humor seemed perfectly fitting to the characters. Eddie Izzard's character having only one line was actually his request, he thought playing up the body language would really make the character, and the subtle expressions he gives say it all without words. Heck with critics, that's just what they are: critics. Fault finders. Well if you look for faults, you'll find faults. I look for a good movie, and at least to me, I find one in this. And it's a good, clean film. You don't need trash and smut to be good.
