Scenes cut from the US release

As a Brit, some of the scenes that apparently weren't in the US cut of the film seem crazy to me. For me the "nobody thinks about the family of a henchman" scene is one of the definitive (and most ingenious) moments of the film! I even read a novel by a British comedian and author (The Death of Eli Gold by David Baddiel) which mentioned one of the characters watching this scene on TV.

Why the hell did they cut those excellent scenes from the American version??

It makes no sense. The dead henchmen friends’n’family scenes are amazing, with cameos from Rob Lowe and Lois Chiles (Dr Goodhead from Moonraker), and then there’s the Christian Slater cameo - Americans would go nuts for that stuff, why delete it??

There were even little gags throughout that got cut, like Austin’s retarded smile while he’s dripping with liquid goo.

I’d be very interested to learn what the thinking was 🤷🏻‍♂️
