Opening scene

I'm trying to remember the opening scene in this film. Does it involve a car turning at a crossroad and driving past an outdoor market or sidewalk cafe in a Mediterranean-looking country? And then someone getting shot?

If it's not the opening scene, is it somewhere in The Assignment? Or is it from another film altogether?

It's one of those frustrating memory things and has been bugging me for ages, so if anyone recognizes that scene, do please let me know!!
