Apropiate???

Is this appropiate for a 15 year old???

On a scale of 1-10 rate these

Violence

Sex

Nudity

Language

Drug Content

If 10 can a 15 year old handle it???

Violence - 5

Sex - 0

Nudity - 0

Language - 5

Drug Content - 0 (but there's alcohol)

it's not so much on what you see, but what is happening - a kid who is fascinated with war crimes

Violence - 5, it's not disturbing but there's a shocking scene where the old man attempts to put a cat in an oven and a rather graphic murder.

Sex - 3, there's only one part in which a girl goes down on the main character. You don't see anything but it's worth noting.

Nudity - 0

Language - 7, didn't surprise me as there's qutie alot of the F word etc, but nothing major.

Drug Content - 0, but as the previous poster said, there's alot of alcohol.

It's a very good film that builds up the tension well, perhaps try seeing it first to see what you think...but then again the film in the UK is rated as 15 so a 15 year old should be fine :)

You are missing two factors. There is nudity, albeit male nudity, during the scene in the shower room after the basketball game. Then there is one scene with drugs. After the girl attempts to go down on him, she is smoking a joint, which he asks her to blow the other way. Both pretty mild, though thought should be mentioned.

"Appropriate" has become one of my least favorite words in the English language. If you can't pin an objective offense on you-name-it, just call it "inappropriate" and it is liable to stand convicted without prosecuting attorney, judge, or jury. It's as though "thou shalt not tolerate the inappropriate" has become one of the Ten Commandments. Only middle-class Boomers could set up such a kangaroo court.

The protagonist of this film was only 17 or 18. Its release is dated Oct. 1998, and Brad Renfro was born in July, 1982. Therefore, he was probably only 15 during some of the filming. I would assume that what's appropriate for an actor to make is appropriate enough for his contemporaries to see.

This film has negligible violence, nudity, sex, profanity, or drugs.

The film does have negligible violence, nudity, sexy, and drugs. However, I would not show this to a 10 or 15 year old because the subject matter is very mature, and young minds tend to be more impressionable.
