Backing Down 'Mr French'

The last few minutes of "Apt Pupil" are glorious.

"Mr French" thinks that he is the persuer who's going to trouble Todd but turns out to be the PERSUED. Time to back down and walk away, Mr French.

In my own life there came times when I simply "excised" ( for want of a better word ) people and groups that simply didn't suit me. These included a church, friends of my parents and groups my father bade me join; not to mention a wife.

That's freedom. The freedom to cut your own deal.

The un-free hate and fear the free.

And, no, I never associated with any Nazi war criminals, to my knowledge.

Just a bunch of everyday busybodies and self-appointed supervisors. Funny that there's never a shortage of "Mr French" types in the world.
