Todd didn't need to be that afraid

Do you share my opinion that Todd’s fear that Dussander would decide to tell people that the boy knew about everything from the very beginning was exaggerated? Even if it happened so, Todd could always defend himself that Dussander wanted to destroy his reputation by claiming this because he was a malicious evil person deriving pleasure from others’ problems or as an act of revenge after the boy spurned sexual advances he made to him. People would be more inclined to believe a teenager than an ex nazi.

reply

I wouldn't be so inclined. Not at all.

reply

Maybe, but like he said. It wouldn't have made any difference. Just the fact that he was connected with this man for over a year and that his name would be all over the news connected with an ex-nazi would have stained him and his family no matter what the truth was.

Rumors are true...even if they're lies.

Following Double's train of thought, I have one small popular saying. There's no such thing as bad publicity.

How does that apply to this situation? Either way it's spun, he spent a year learning from and helping an ex-nazi.

Sometimes, there just ain't enough rocks.

I thik what you really have to consider is the effect that his age played in his fear. I did not find it hard to believe at all because at that age every emotion and everything you feel is so much more intensified by lack of life experience and a preponderance of hormones etc.

It's not about the truth. It's about loosing power about it's pet, and loosing face in front of society.
This youg sociopath lives to have power...(power to be seen as he wants, power to toy people etc)

Loosing his petty power is what terrifies him most.
