I hear it is so bad that it is good

Is this true? Should we watch it for the MST3000 potential?

I would, I really quite liked it. That being said, seeing as everyone else didn't, maybe you should n't take my advice...

I heard it is so bad you want to wrap a cord around your neck and try to cut off the oxygen supply to your brain.

I've heard this is so bad it actually has been denounced by the Church of God and the Church of Satan.

It's uneven. Parts are really very funny, in a black comedy sort of way, and parts are really boring. The problem seems to be that for each viewer, the parts that work are different and for some viewers there aren't enough that do work. I thought the Brothers Brothers stuff was desperately unfunny and the rest was hilarious. My favorite bit is Leslie Stefanson's (she played Michele Rafferty, the call girl) visit to church; the level of doublethink was just amazing. And I liked the agent, the studio chief, the producers (Edmonds and Evans), the stars and the director's wife. I had a bit too much of Eric Idle, eventually.

Certainly not the worst comedy I ever saw, and I have watched it more than once. I agree that it helps to have read up a bit on Hollywood as an industry.

Although I wouldnt watch this film again, its certainly not as bad as Ive read on here. Some of the performances are uneven and the script needed work but I watched it all the way through and certainly wasnt horrified by the quality at the end of it.
its better than freddy got fingered anyway, the only movie I can remember turning off halfway through

I actually love this film, I think it is really funny. Sure I understand how it's not to everyone's taste but I enjoy it, and I found the Brothers Brothers stuff funny.

If you're into movies at all, and have any knowledge about what goes on behind the scenes, this is funny as h***. I read a lot of books written by Hollywood types (Art Linson has several funny ones, William Goldman's two books, Julia Philips, Bart & Guber...etc) and I found Burn Hollywood Burn accurate (if a bit over the top at times) and hilarious. It's also kinda cool that to save money on the soundtrack, they had unsigned bands only send them songs and they picked the best.

I wonder how much is scripted and how much was improvised. It was hilarious to see Shane Black poking fun at the genre that made him rich. The ridiculousness of TRIO, and the part where Ryan O'Neal just wants to run the trailer, hehe.

Funny stuff...a good compantion to Ezsterhaus's book American Rhapsody as well.

For me, it was just plain confusing. I didn't understand it until I read about it on IMDb.

the movie idea was good, but the writing was horrible. every word that came out of chuck d and coolios mouth made me cringe.

"yo, you the flyest brother ive ever met" some bullsh!t like that.

No, it's not.

This movie is really, really, REALLY bad!

I turned it off after the first 20 minutes, that's how bad it was.

But, opinions are opinions...and they differ from person to person, so see it if you are curious enough!

It isn't nearly good enough to be MST3000 material.
