Julie Christie does the IMPOSSIBLE!

She still manages to give a magnificent, not just good, but magnificent performance in a dire film and with dire actors. The two younger actors Lara and Johnny were abysmal and Nick Nolte was ok and though he had his moments. But, the ONLY saving grace of this film is the divine talents of Julie Christie. She is spellbinding. Her eyes, her face says a million words. Not only is she one of the most beautiful actresses ever but her delicacy and choices as an actor have just gotten better and better with age. She is simply delivering a towering performance in a film that is not worthy of her. Had the film been better overall she would have most certainly walked away with her second Oscar.
