How did Linda's dad show up the night of the breakup...
...to read her 'Dear John' note to Anton? The sequence goes; they eat & then see Nana off on the bus, race back to the spy post *that night* and *that night* Linda's dad shows up at the door with her note. Was he stashed over in New Jersey the whole time waiting for her call?
And irrespective of how lovely she may be on the outside, who would want someone so spineless and mealy-mouthed that she couldn't even face you when she decided to dump you? Once might be acceptable, but over and over is pathetic. And quite possibly the most neurotic thing in the whole film.
Which I love utterly, btw. This role for Meg was so refreshingly different from anything I'd seen her do before!
