Must-see Joe Pesci, the rest is not so great...

Joe Pesci is outstanding in this, has never been funnier, every second he is onscreen, he is hysterical.

The real problem with this movie is the subplot is an incredibly boring guy trying to marry into an incredibly boring family (the only exciting thing is Dyan Cannon's legs in one scene), and that subplot occupies 95% of the screen time.

It seems like this movie was made to trade on Joe Pesci's good name, by giving him a paycheck for a "starring" role where he could shoot all his scenes in three days.

As usual, David Spade is kinda funny. I'd rather watch this 50x than watch one episode of Rules of Engagement, the only thing he's even done that was not funny.

If you are a big Joe Pesci fan, this is a must-see, but if not, no, don't bother, it isn't a very good film.

For good black comedy, try Home Fries or Harold and Maude.

I agree that Joe Pesci, David Spade, and Todd Louiso are the three funniest people in this movie, and that they should have been featured more. (George Hamilton had his moments, however.)

I think the real goal of this movie was to try to make a star out of Andy Comeau. Personally, I think he could have gotten somewhere with a better debuting project. He has that "so-square-he's-funny" anti-charisma that Tom Hanks and Paul Rudd used to launch their careers.
