Another version of the same old, same old

Another version of the classic, "Substitute teacher in inner city school, dealing with punk kids" movie. Even though this was a little edgier than most, I think they missed a chance to kick it up a notch. How about if the main character just snapped, and not only started taking them out one by one, but when they figured out who was doing it and went after him with the remaining gang, he was ready with an ambush all planned for them. Big ending, with bullets flying and booby traps going off everywhere.
