One of the only things I REALLY didn't like about this remake...

...and I know some of you will think this is silly, but what I really didn't like was the Judge at the beginning.

The way the judge read his lines in the original set up the entire movie to help you believe that the kid was "obviously guilty". The original judge was so nonchalant and uncaring about the words coming out of his mouth that he basically said, "Okay, go back there, vote guilty, and we'll be done with this whole thing." But in the remake, the judge is very stern and serious, telling them how much she does not envy their decision and she seemed so harsh on the subject that from the very start it insinuates this idea that the kid could either be guilty or not guilty, which isn't as enjoyable to think with this kind of progression in the film.
