Last scenes question

Just saw it and was wondering what was the point of the final scene where the old guy comes to him and introduces himself (after asking his name).... any point to that at all?

It's open to interpretation - but I think it is just to humanize them. They weren't just jurors making decision but people who had lives outside of the jury room. During the film they were nameless people. The ending puts them back to reality (not that the jury room isn't reality) but it isn't a daily reality for them.

I took it as Juror #9's acknowleging #8's victory. No one really credits him with convincing 11 other men who were so convinced (for the wrong reasons) of the accused guilt to change their mind. 9 clearly was impressed.
