Which crack-addled MORON cancelled this?

It's just very, very sad...

reply

Indeed it is very sad, like the cancellation of Arrested Development.
DAMN...DAMN...DAMN!!!!

Ratings, ratings, ratings...

except Arrested Development blew chuncks

Then you did not have the brain power to understand it. Plain and simple. I don't mean this to be degrading, it's just that your opinion is moot due to insufficient brain power. A.D. was not for everyone, just the few select MILLIONS that have a craving for good entertainment outside of the latest Paris and Brittney sightings, or the likes of some trivial nonsense about guessing someone's identity with half of Penn and Teller... don't even get me started on friggin Howie and that lame-ass show he's hawking!!

The same thing happened to A.D. as what happened to Working, Grounded for Life, John Doe, The Loop, and a multitude of other profound efforts... Brilliance without Pandering!

While the networks put dollars above talent and will cancel anything that doesn't pay-off double their investment... IT'S DEAD! This sounds rather backwards, no? You would think that they would want to stick with it, like they did with Seinfeld... but not today! They have better options and none of them take into account whether or not it's something that is worth filling the time-slot it has been given. Moreover, it's just a slot filler... and then the ratings "poured in"...

Achhhh!

I guess your right, the rest of America and me just didn't have the "brain power" to watch such a boring show.

reply

Dude, AD was *beep* brilliant.

reply

just because someone didn't like ad dont mean they didn't understand it and ad humor was silly most of the time yea they did have alot of jokes that went over some peoples head but it was mostly silly humor

reply

Probably I could never get into it. I love Seinfeld, but I didn't see how AD was similar and I didn't find it funny at all. But to each his own.

reply

"You're just too dumb to understand it" - the lament of every mouth-breather whose favorite show has been aggrieved.

I know this is an old post, but I'm sure you haven't changed much in the last 8 years.

reply

Arrested Development and this show, Working, were both great. Boston Common too with Anthony Clark. Good stuff, gone. Pity.
AD is definitely not for everyone. Just the smart people.

reply

I agree. Why are shows like Arrested Development, Working and Freaks and Geeks cancelled while regurgitated sh*t like Friends stays on the air for 10 years? Incredible.

reply

Because it's so dumbed down for the mass audience and they eat it up. Some truly great shows are cancelled way too soon, in fact most of my favorite shows ran for 3 seasons or less.

reply

Not only do I agree with you, but "crack-addled moron" is hysterical! LOL!

reply

The first season was very successful, but the second season was DOA because of Debi Mazar. After Dana Gould left (got fired, possibly?), they replaced him with Mazar. People don't respond well to her...especially in a sitcom. So the second season started to suck and lasted only 14 episodes. The first season was absolutely brilliant.

reply

The first season was awesome. The second not so funny. But this show deserved a second chance, I thought.
I also was furious when they canceled "South Central". That show was so ground-breaking and refreshing, and Larenz Tate was great.

The flooding of reality-tv is sickening. I cannot stand any of those programs, and T.V series in general suck. The only ones I do watch regularly are "Law & Order SVU" (which is not as good as used to be either, sadly) and "Iron Chef America".

"I'd say this cloud is Cumulo Nimbus."
"Didn't he discover America?"
"Penfold, shush."

"Which crack-addled MORON cancelled this?"

That's a GOOD question.
