Audio Problems with The Competition

In the episode "The Competition" there are parts in my set where the audio cuts out for about 4 seconds each of the 5 spots in that episode. Is there anyone else who has experienced the same things with their set and that episode?

Some parts in a couple episodes it does sound like it could be a sound problem so I had to turn up the volume a little. Maybe there were problems copying and transferring the series from VHS to DVD.

I was glad to see though that (Al?) re-recorded (or did something) to one episode because he introduced the "Barenaked Ladies" where as when I saw the episode on TV he had introduced them as "BNL" since the Network had a problem with the bands name! Thanks goodness Al (or whoever) did something to allow Al to say "The Barenaked Ladies"

When I saw it on TV he said "Barenaked Ladies" just fine. On the commentary Al said they had to record him saying it both ways, and as Al speaks he seems to be under the misapprehension that they lost their tooth-and-nail battle with the network about it. In fact, they won.

That's weird -- mine actually has a video glitch where the picture kind of falls apart for a couple seconds. And the whole episode is quieter than the others... and the weirdest thing is the commentary fir this episode: you know how during the commentary you can still hear the show? Well, it's out of sync by about a second and a half!

I'm gonna see if I can exchange it

There was a production error that caused the audio to be a little screwy on that episode. Just email Shout! Factory and they'll replace the 3rd disc for you.

In the audio commentary for the episode, Al says that the network censored some of the lines in the song performed by Radish, which is why the audio cuts out several times during their performance.

I still have all 13 episodes of the show on VHS from when they originally aired. Al announced BNL by their full name on the air, and yes there are audio glitches on The Competition, as my VHS will attest. Also, some of the sound effects from that episode are missing.
