Nostalgia

I was 12 years old when my national television started to air this around 2002, and I still remember the names of the main characters. I was in love with this show and back at school we used to discuss about it, about what should happen further, about actresses... Of course, my favorite was Meg.

I remember how I used to play ball with other kids on the hills, and at 7 PM how my mom shouted "Sunset Beeeeach!!!" to bring me back home. And I always ran like I was chased by a bear or something. I tried to watch it again in 2013, but it didn't trigger anything anymore. Nevertheless, I gave it a 10.

And Meg is still gorgeous.

Yeah, too bad Susan Ward's career seemed to fizzle out, isn't it? I know she had a limited part in the movie "Shallow Hal," and appeared in an episode of "Friends," but I really haven't seen her in anything else, when I thought she was pretty young and headed for a big career. I see that her IMDb listing shows a number of things but I didn't see any of them, and it looks like she hasn't worked since 2012. Sad.

I don't think she handled her attempt to move from TV to movies very well. And she had terrible people 'handling' her career.

She got those massive breast implants and left SuBe to do that awful 'erotic thriller' b movie (when SuBe temporarily re-cast her with Sydney Penny), and when the movie came out gave those interviews badmouthing soaps and soap fans. I remember her publicist sending out a statement about how the b-flick was going to make her an A list movie star overnight and that she was far too good for SuBe now. She basically pissed off her entire existing fanbase at a stroke. And then her PR tactic for years was just posing nude or in bikinis for every men's magazine around, which to be fair most young starlets were doing too at that time, but that's not how you build a proper acting career. She got typecast in sex bomb or stripper roles then got left in the cold when she aged out of them. A shame, because she had a lot more potential than she ever got to show. SuBe for all that she looked down on it gave her more scope to show her acting range than her 'sexy' film roles.

Yes, I do remember reading about her doing this kind of thing (and I remember a photo of her in a see-thru blouse after she got those implants - ugh!). I agree with you. Did you see the pictures of her 2013 baby shower on that S.B. blog page? She looked very happy. She married a successful producer, and presumably is now a happy mom. Well good for her. (She'll turn 40 next month - hard to believe, right?)
