I watched a particular episode entitled "Vanishing Act" (EP 2.21) Aired July 21, 1996.

In this episode the main character, played by Jon Cryer, gets kidnapped by a alien species every 10yrs of his life. The aliens send him back to earth with a alien in his gut inorder to learn about earth.

The alien is a symbiotic snake-like creature that needs a host to survive. And it did look exactly like a Goa'uld. So much so that it can't be a coincidence. Since this aired before SG-1, I'm gonna claim the idea was stolen from this show.

Just sayin'.

It's not a coincidence. It's not stolen though, more like reused.

Sg-1 was created by a duo who worked on "The Outer Limits." Brad Wright and Jonathan Glassner were co-executive producers and writers for "The Outer Limits." Glassner also helped develop the revival of the series to begin with and served as the showrunner until he moved on to Sg-1.

The particular episode you're referring to was directed by Glassner.

The Stargate movie had Ra inhabit a human host through a sort of spirit transfer. Among the changes that Wright and Glassner made for their TV adaption was to depict the Goa'uld as a physical snake-like parasite that, while not a concept original to either Sg-1 or Outer Limits, did have a very similar look to the design used in "The Outer Limits."

If I had paid attention, I would've caught that regarding Glassner and Wright. It was too obvious. Thanks for the clarifying the info.

Star Trek's Trill aren't far off. I'm sure scifi has other examples in its history.
