help - a show similar to Spellbinder

I'm pretty sure it wasn't Spellbinder 1 or 2 that I'm thinking of, although it's from that era, I THINK it came after Spellbinder 1 (1995) but I could be wrong. I know it was an Australian production and I'll write what I can recall, sketchy memory so bare with me plz :)

I'm pretty sure the main actor was a male, I can't remember if he travelled to parallel worlds or not but I think so, I remember a nuclear wasteland desert place where there were ruffions who ruled the area (much like mad max 3, drove similar vehicles, wore black leather etc) and there might have been some special mineral they mined, blue rock or something?? I can't remember... I think later in the series they bring back animals from their own world (okay so it must have been a parellel world thing) and the local inhabitants of the wasteland world have never seen birds & horses etc. I remember one of the "baddies" had some weird haircut, sorta shaved all around with long hair at the top, from memory that "baddy" was also in Neighbours or one of those shows at a later time.

I think there was your typical kind of "good and evil" bases setup too. There might have been some underground / underwater base thing where the main actor or one of the "good characters" came from.

Apologies for being so blurry, honestly some of that was coming back to me as I wrote it but its all very patchy, I just hope I wasn't cross referencing more than 1 show by accident. I used to love those childrens shows but always missed lots of each so its hard to remember any one of them too clearly.

Thanks in advance, hopefully someone knows something and if by chance I find out the answer first I'll bring the info back here, for those who like these shows you'll like this one too :)

The show I was looking for was: THUNDERSTONE (1999)

Fans of these shows like Spellbinder will enjoy that one too. I recommend it. Now to see if its available on DVD somewhere :)

also check out The Girl From Tomorrow if you liked Spellbinder!

Cheers, but I saw it years before 'Spellbinder'! 'The Girl From Tomorrow' is one of my childhood favourites and the first series in particular stands up so well today because of the brilliant script.
