Heath Ledger gone too soon at 28. He will be missed.

It's very, very sad! :( He was one of my favorite actors. And I felt like I saw him rise in his success. I saw him first on ROAR and was like who is this young actor. I was so thankful I got to see Roar on primetime tv...nbc or some other back in 1997 when I was in high school. Then I was very disappointed when it went off the air after one season but was so happy when he broke out into mainstream films. I'll never forget him singing "Can't take my eyes off you" in 10 Things I Hate About You. And I loved him in Broke Back Mountain and Casanova. Now I need to go out and see the rest of his films, especially the one where he plays Bob Dylan.

When I heard he died it was on Katie Couric's CBS news show. It's reputable..but I thought they are lying. They are so wrong! I was saying to myself. Then I wished it had been someone else...not him. He had so much potential and I was looking forward to seeing him in so many films to come. He was my generation and one year older than me. Also, from what I could see he was a likeable guy who didn't court media and the paparazzi like some of these other young celebs. He lived a quiet life and I have to respect him for that. I'm definitely going to miss this one.

If anything good could of come out of this it is he was done shooting Dark Knight, the Batman Begins sequel, which I have been waiting for (over a year). So the Joker will live on this year! Hope it is a fond farewell to such a great and young actor.

I too hope the premiere of his latest film "Dark Knight" will be a grand farewell to all his fans around the world. I guess it would be a sobbing affair for some. It's really sad to see him go at such a young age.

I also saw Heath first on ROAR. I was lucky to share my enthusiasm about this actor with others on the ROAR forum. We had a great time discussing the show and Heath (we recognized his talent and felt he would go far) and fought hard to keep ROAR on the air. Although the forum was closed sometime after ROAR ended, some of us kept in touch. Just a few months ago, I was reading the posts I saved which had me laughing and crying and fondly recalling the good times we had.
I have had a difficult time this week trying to accept that I will not see Heath in new projects. He was a very talented actor whom I liked and respected and a wonderful person and father. My heart aches for his family, especially his daughter Matilda. I know that my sadness will lessen as the days pass as I focus on the friends I made (even for a short while) because of Heath. Right now, I don't think I can watch any of his movies I own, but when I do Heath's performances will brighten up my day again.

As you can say, Heath really made it. But THE DARK KNIGHT would have been the film really pushing him up to upper class in hollywood. What a success would it be to him.
I look forward to the film, i get goosebumps by the trailer. Heath is a great Joker, he is a very good young Nicholson-like Joker. I will love the film, be happy watching it, but sad about Heath.

WHAT A LOSS!

I am so happy to see a post like this! After I finished reading it, my first thought was, "Oh my gosh! Did I post that?" I've never been one to get very emotional over celebrities passing, however there was something about Heath that made me feel like I actually knew him, and his death upset me as if it were that of an actual friend. The world has lost a truly great individual. My thoughts and prayers are with his friend and most certainly his family.

Just wondering if Shaun had any comments on Heath Ledger's death since he was the creator of Roar.

If you want to see the rest of his films (they're all great - regardless of what the critics say), see Candy! That was such an amazing movie...he did such an awesome job with the character he played. But seriously...go rent it/buy it...you won't regret it!

I just can't get over how many of his movies and TV shows were poorly filmed and yet he made many great films too. The director's just need to know, keep the camera on the actor who is saying the lines. Jesus Allah Shiva!

Now let's beat up that OLD Bastard George Carlin, he'd appreciate it!

It is a shame about Heath Ledger. I praise him for his brilliant performance as The Joker in The Dark Knight and I remember the short lived Roar. If he hadn't died 5 years ago, he could had been Connor McLeod in the reboot of the Highlander franchise.

he was amazing and incredible in Brokeback. Still miss him.

Not sure I will ever get a response from posting this. But I wanted to say I agreed with you and had similar feelings. I grew up seeing this guy grow and succeed in his craft. I had a friend of my sister remind me a few years back, she said to me: "I remember the first time I saw you, you were in your underwear on top of the kitchen table with a sword in your hand, posing and swinging your sword while you were listening to Celtic music". xDDDD This was when I was in middle school and Roar was playing on the TV. I absolutely loved this show!

A Knights Tale, was my favorite film of his for a longgg time. And when I saw Heath Ledgers first film he ever made called "Two Hands" it really showed me how great he was even in the very beginning of his career : )

To keep on the topic of Roar, this show had some good villains and interesting episodes. The best episode is when they had to protect these christian scrolls and we find out Katlin is a christian. The Episode is titled Red Boot. The villain of that episode had real presence to him and was good seeing him defeated.
