I know on Pc the town is called Port charles But does anyone know what state the shows plot is based on.. I was just wondering if they ever mention it on the first season. I do know that port charles is taped in california.
I remember when I was watching General Hospital and when Lily was involved with Sonny she was on a payphone and told someone on the other line that Port Charles is an hour away from Rockchester,NY!
lol. Good to know, because I was going to say, where the hell is there a bay in upstate new york? I live in upstate new york and it doesn't look like port charles. lol.
I remember in the mid to late 80's when Luke took a young Lucky to a Buffalo Bills football game and then Jim Kelly (current Bills quarterback at the time) played in some kind of charity basketball game in PC and was injured and ended up at GH. It was hysterical because Jim Kelly was so out of it at the hospital and he had shades on and said he was Jim McMahon (from the '85/Super Bowl Bears).
A few years prevous to that, when Sean Donelly and Robert Scorpio were buddies and spies, they traveled to Buffalo and I got the impression it was maybe an hour to 2 hours away. And that was not the only time on GH they had gone to Buffalo.
One time on PC, and for the life of me I can't remember what year it was, there was a killer and he was looking at a map of upstate NY and he was looking at PC. I froze the screen on my VCR and took out my atlas and it looked to me like it was right around where Rochester would be.
I know this thread has been on here for a while, but I am currently watching PC on SoapNet and they are showing the 1st 2 episodes of the first chapter, "Fate". I wish they would show PC from the beginning when it premiered in 1997.
Lucky didn't appear on GH until 1993 when Luke and Laura made their return to Port Charles. Tony Geary had been back on GH for a few years before then, though, playing his cousin Bill.
Great memories! Also, in early 1987, Sean Donely and Frisco drove by car to Niagara Falls (and the show actually went to location there imagine that!) and Niagara Falls was not very far from Port Charles.
