Port Charles is the coolest Soap Opera ever. There are like 4 hot guys, and all the episodes and good and entertaining. They should make the show an hour long instead of half-an-hour. Some people have a problem with this soap opera becuase they think that witches and vampires and stuff shouldn't be in Soap Opera's. I thought the same thing at first, but then I figured, if it didn't, it would be just like any other Soap Opera. Also, Soap Opera's are already so far-fetched...why not add supernatural things? It makes Port Charles unique. I'm so glad that Tess is gone cuz she was sooo damn annoying. I like Livvie a lot better. Also, I think Marissa is the worst actress on this show and shouldn't be on it anymore. For that reason, and because she got Jamal for a while. Caleb, Kevin, Ian, Joshua and Chris are just the coolest. Jamal, Jack, and Rafe (sometimes) are hot. That's all. Oh by the way, you people need to start comenting on this, mine's the first comment I think. K good times. Byes

Unique? THis show has never been shown in my area, but what I have read about tells me it is trying to copy off the supernatural soap opera of the 60's, Dark Shadows, the original vampire soap opera.

Wanna bet? ABC made a *big* mistake, in selling PC to its local affiliates. As a result, PC never could generate the kind of ratings it needed to survive, mainly because it was either on during ludicrous hours, like 2:00 a.m. or it wasn't on at all.

The fact is, PC had one of the most talented groups of actors on any soap, and some of the best writers. Other factors brought it down. Just look at all the other soaps that are still running. The industry has stopped trying. The ratings are slowly dwindling down, and if something drastic doesn't happen, we could actually be facing a soap-free future here in the next decade or so.

port charles started out good because it was just a doctor show but then it got all stupid and idiotic. the thing with all of the "arcs" was really dumb and went on too long. vampires???!!!!

Ever heard of "Dark Shadows"? It was a daytime soap from the 1960's. It started off with supernatural plotlines that read more like ghost stories, and then eventually brought a vampire character on that remained at the center of the show...and actually made the show much more successful.

Also, you say "Port Charles" was good because it was a doctor show. Interesting idea, I suppose, but certainly not original. It was still too close to "General Hospital" at that point. Granted, I have not seen the first few years. The first arc I've seen is "Tainted Love," the first vampire arc on the soap, and the third arc overall. It got me addicted to the show. I'm partial to vampires, especially when the stories are done well, as they were here. Only a few other soap operas have really tried supernatural plotlines and only two have really succeeded in doing them right. "Port Charles" and "Dark Shadows." "Passions" is a royal joke, and not because of its supernatural plotlines. Horrible actors, every soap opera cliche, and awful writing serve to make that show terrible.

I'm wondering if you bothered to at least give the show a chance without your bias against supernatural plotlines, or whether you just assumed it would be stupid because of it?

Sorry, but I gave the show about five years of chances before I gave up on it. I have no bias against supernatural plotlines. I love Harry Potter, Hocus Pocus, and tons of other supernatural shows, movies, books, etc. Port Charles just got kind of silly and I didn't like it. Geez. So sorry to have offended you.

I couldn't agree more. PC was one of the best (if not the best , in my eyes). It was innovative, the storyline pace was good, the actors were great. I miss it till this day.ABC really dropped the ball selling it to affiliates. It should've aired right after GH, IMO.

I'll never forget PC, I wish they could have some kind of final conclusion like a movie or something....

I TOTALLY agree! I LOVE PC! I really wish they could have made a better conclusion to tie everything up though. I'll never forget this show. PC had some of the best actors on tv and it deserved so much more than it got.

I agree that it was on one of the best shows!! They stopped playing it where I lived. What happened? How did everything end up?

The network ABC canceled it back in 2003 or 2004. I heard that they are playing it on Soapnet channel that is on satelite. I dont know how true this is.

I liked it in the beginning. It had some of my favorites from GH. Lucy and Doc. Lee, Gail, Scott, and Serena. I also got very caught up in the stories of the interns. I especially loved Eve. Toward the end, it was`nt very good. I gave up on it, and that was a big sacrifice, considering how much I loved my DOC! AKA Jon Lindstrom.

ITA, I loved it in the beginning too and Eve was my fav character. But then they started with those stupid arcs and the time travel and then the vampires. I got my vampire fix from Btvs, I didn't want it on PC. And I had already stopped watching the show before they even cancelled it.

You honestly missed out on a lot. What I love about PC is that it wasn't like any other soap opera. It was very make believe. You could sit down and escape and enjoy the show. I love the arcs/books. All of them. I know what killed the show. It was the character Joshua. Many people stopped watching when he took over. Why or even how he took over I still don't understand. Caleb was the most powerful vampire. And that arc with Joshua was WAAAAAAAYYYYYY too long!!! But the gift brought us back to what we love and then left us at cliff! Stopping this show was stupid. Oh do I miss PC!!!
