Which character do you dislike the most? I really can't stand Alvarez. He's so dumb, whiny and self-absorbed. He has the mentality of a teenaged momma's boy.

I completely agree about Alvarez. Could not stand him. It was always me, me, me poor me.
Both of the o reilly brothers were the same way. Could not stand ryan and his manipulative ways or Cyril.
I didn't dislike Vern because he was annoying, I disliked him because of how repulsive of a human he was. No one can be that messed up. Not even adebisi was.
McManus and the female prison guard who hooked up with prisoners had me disliking them as well.

She was minor in the grand scheme of things, but Stella, the librarian. I hated her and every minute she spent on screen. Completely worthless character who essentially had no effect on any character other than Rebadow, who by that point was barely interesting himself.
As far as main characters I disliked, Officer Howell always particularly bugged me. Timmy Kirk, too.
Adebisi. He was a sadistic, racist, rapist, bully. I first wished his death during season two after he screwed up Wangler's chances of improving his life, and after all the stuff he did to Peter Schibetta.

Why? Because they cause the deaths of all my favorite characters in the show's run. Regardless, this is the reason why I love the characters; due to their death scenes. However, the equation is complete with my dislike for Keller and O'Reily.

Actually zeebo, it's pretty apparent that when Adebisi died, the show died as well. He pretty much was that show. Likeable character or not, his death is probably the most memorable and shocking moment of the entire series. Additionally, the actor has gone on to continue a very successful career.
shareThose are all your opinions. If the actor (who you didn't even list by name) has been in a lot of stuff, I haven't seen him in much, so he's clearly not that great. I saw him in that crappy reboot or sequel or prequel or whatever the hell it was to "The Thing" and some dumb gang-banger movie back in 2005 with a title I can't even remember. It was a film I never finished. He also wasn't the star in either of those motion pictures.
FYI: "Oz" had been on for three years by the time of Adebisi's death. You can only come up with so many deaths and prison drama before it becomes uninteresting to some people. I personally thought "Oz" was fine, but yeah, Adebisi wasn't the show. There were a lot of other characters and storylines that made "Oz" what it was. Adebisi was just another stock thug character. You can find his type anywhere.

Claire Howell...my only real regret with this show is that nobody murdered her ass.
Jiggy Walker (played by LL Cool J); was barely a cameo character but he was awful and painfully "acted" by LL Cool J.
Querns...he was just a dick.
Adebisi is no Darth Vader. If he was, he would be known among the mainstream crowd. He's only appreciated among too many "Oz" fans. Why, I will never know. I'm actually glad I don't.
